Essential Information for Volunteers and Members
Southport Hockey Club is affiliated to England Hockey, the National Body who looks after all aspects of Hockey.

For Southport Hockey Club to be affiliated they have to be accredited under the Clubs First recognition programme.Clubs First requires the Club to demonstrate that it has plans and procedures in place, which ensure the proper running of the Club, and equally importantly safeguards all the members of the Club, especially juniors.

Clubs First requires that all Club Officials, Coaches, Players, Umpires, Captains and Team Managers and active volunteers, familiarise themselves with all the safeguarding, equal opportunity and other Club procedures.

Volunteer Registration Form

Click Form to open up the Volunteer Registration Form.   All people mentioned above are required to complete the form and print off a copy and give it to the Chairman, or other Club Official.

To be able to complete the form you will need to read various documents – and agree to their content.   The most active volunteers – such as coaches – require to undertake quite a lot of training, such as First Aid, Coaching, Safeguarding Children and other courses.   Parents who help out by giving lifts to matches require to register.   Where contact with juniors is considerable the Club may ask that some volunteers take the online safeguarding course, and register for a CRB, now updated to DBS.

The volunteer registration form has hot links to the documents that need to read and agreed with.
