U13 Cricket have a good season

The U13 team have had a thoroughly enjoyable season, competing in a number of cricket competitions.

In the league, we won three games and finished fifth in the division.  Top run scorer was Patrick Dutton with 190 runs, average 37 and high score of 53, and was very ably partnered on a number of occasions by Callum Scott.  Top bowler was Thomas Parker with 19 wickets, best bowling 4 overs 4 for 10, who was very well assisted by our opening pace bowlers Ethan Fletcher and Tom Porter, and fellow spinner Valente Pearson.

In the National Knockout we enjoyed two very good wins against Bootle and Hightown, before losing narrowly to a strong Rainford team, and we unfortunately lost in the first round of the league knockout to another strong Formby team.

The highlight of the season was winning the Ainsdale CC U13 floodlit cricket tournament, were we beat Formby, Ainsdale and Northern; there were some excellent bowling displays, notably from Ethan Fletcher and Matthew White, and some excellent batting from Ben Coulthurst and Tom Brannon.  Really well done!

In our squad we have 20 players, four who have represented the Sefton District Team; Patrick Dutton, Ethan Fletcher, Oliver Meadows and Thomas Parker.  Patrick and Oliver have also represented Lancashire U12s.  Many congratulations to all of them.
